What is Mystic Trial Mode? Mystic Trial is a permanent feature (not an event) in Kingshot that unlocks when you reach Town Center Level 19 [00:28]. It consists of six different dungeons that open on specific days of the week. You get five challenge attempts per day, and attempts are only consumed if you lose a stage [00:45]. Progressing through stages grants a permanent weekly income of a new “mystic crystal” currency, along with raid reward chests [01:04]. Notably, these are “expedition” battles, meaning only expedition stats and abilities apply, not conquest rules [01:18].
The Six Dungeons and Their Rules: Each dungeon tests a different aspect of your account’s power:
- Coliseum (Mon/Tue): Uses heroes and their gear. Hero abilities apply, but abilities from exclusive gear do not [01:59].
- Forest of Life (Wed/Thu): No heroes allowed. Troops rely entirely on pet stats (levels/marks) and automatic combat pet abilities [02:53].
- Crystal Cave (Wed/Thu): Relies solely on your Governor Charm stats [03:21].
- Knowledge Nexus (Fri/Sat): No heroes allowed. Powered entirely by your research bonuses and unlocked troop tiers [03:35].
- Molten Fort (Fri/Sat): Based strictly on your Governor Gear power [04:02].
- Radiant Spire (Sun): Uses all traditional sources of power, including obscure ones like skins and VIP levels (but excludes alliance buildings and consumables) [04:10].
The Investment Meta Shift Historically, free-to-play (F2P) players could focus heavily on growth investments, as battle stats were only crucial for rally leaders. However, because Mystic Trial provides a permanent income boost based on progression, F2P players now have a direct reason to invest in battle stats [04:44]. The mode also requires up to three separate hero teams later on, rewarding players who build a wider roster instead of just dumping all resources into three core heroes [08:26].
5 Must-Know Tips for Mystic Trials
- Tip 1: Optimize Troop Formations. Don’t use the “quick deploy” option, which splits troops evenly. The meta heavily favors infantry. While ratios vary slightly by dungeon, a good baseline is typically 50-60% Infantry, 10-20% Cavalry, and 20-40% Archers [09:32].
- Tip 2: Tinker with Multi-Team Formations. For dungeons requiring multiple teams, try moving your strongest cavalry hero to your second team and swapping your infantry/cavalry troop percentages. This allows your best cavalry hero to buff 40% of the troops in that specific march instead of just 10% [10:49].
- Tip 3: Always Exhaust Your Daily Attempts. Expedition battles have massive random variation (RNG). You could lose a stage terribly one minute and win it easily the next with the exact same setup. Keep trying all five attempts every day, even if you are stuck [12:46].
- Tip 4: Prioritize the Right Shop Items. As your weekly crystal income grows, F2P players should prioritize buying Mythril and Charm Designs first, as these will be your biggest progression bottlenecks [13:53].
- Tip 5: Use the Leaderboard for KVK Intel. Because troop bloat doesn’t affect Mystic Trial progress, the leaderboards for these dungeons are an excellent way to scout enemy kingdoms and see who actually has the strongest gear, charms, and heroes before a server-versus-server war [14:46].
